Team Rank

There are 5 Classification Levels for archaeological teams, ranging from the rarest to the least rare: Rank S, Rank A, Rank B, Rank C, Rank D.

The classification of your team is determined by a majority system, where the rarity of the majority of tools in your team defines the team's rank. As you add or remove tools, the rank of your team may change. For instance, if you start with a Rank B team by adding a three-star tool, then include two two-star tools, your team's rank will adjust to Rank C. Note that to remove tools from your team, you will need to disassemble your entire team!
